Candy Cane Mouse
This Candy Cane Mouse is easy to make and is a perfect craft for kids. Kid‘s will love to hang this from the tree or place them on Christmas packages. These work great as classroom gifts or crafts.
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
Felt Scraps
Small Candy Cane (tail)
Wiggle Eyes or Beads
Small Pom-poms (nose)
DIRECTIONS:
1. Cut body (a teardrop shape) and ears (a peanut shape) from desired color of felt. Make the body about 4 inches from end to end. Make the peanut shape about 4 ½ inches from end to end.
2. Cut a ¼ inch slit (-) in the body about an inch from the wide end of the teardrop.
3. Cut two ¼ inch slit (l l) in body about 1 ½ inch from the pointed end of the teardrop.
4. Glue a black pom-pom nose at the tip of the teardrop and glue two wiggle eyes just above the pom-pom.
5. Insert ears through double slits.
6. Insert one end of candy cane through top single slit and other end between back of body and ears.
7. To hang on the tree, use the “tail” (candy cane hook) or tie a ribbon leaving a loop to hang it. You mat need to tape the candy cane to the felt if the slit is too big.
