Chocolate Chip Pancakes
Chocolate Chip Pancakes are a treat the kids will love (anything sweet rocks with kids). Mothers crave them (Gotta have my chocolate fix). Your children will love helping to make these. They’re quick and easy and sure to please a crowd!
Time to start your Chocolate Chip Pancakes. Get your ingredients ready. Get a griddle, or whatever you normally cook your Hungry Jack pancakes on, out and ready. Lightly spray your griddle with the Pam non-stick spray. Turn griddle on a medium temperature.
In a medium size mixing bowl (I like to use my 5 cup or 8 cup Pyrex Measuring bowl), mix a batch of Hungry Jack pancakes following the box instructions or your favorite homemade recipe. Use the measurements for about 10 pancakes.
Once your Hungry Jack pancake mix is almost ready, add about 1/4 cup of Hershey chocolate syrup to the batter. Mix until the batter is the way you like it.
Add 1/2 a bag (about 6 ounces) of Nestle chocolate chips.
As you spoon out your batter onto the griddle, make sure to get some of the Nestle chocolate chips in each spoon full (Make them the size you like). Add more chips if necessary.
Grill them until golden brown on each side (make sure the batter is cooked all the way through).
Top with Land O Lakes butter, Mrs. Buttersworth syrup and Cool Whip whipped topping or any combination of the three.
-
You could also top with some fresh fruit.
-
This makes a fun snack for after school if you eat late in the evenings. To make them a snack, make your pancakes smaller more bite sized put the syrup on the side for dipping. Serving this with a side of fruit (strawberries work well) also helps your kids to eat some fruit.
-
You could also spread peanutbutter on them for a “Reese cup” effect.
-
My daughter’s friends request this whenever they come over. It makes a great quick lunch as well as a snack or breakfast.
-
Add more cooking spray as needed. I usually spray after each pancake is finished before I put a new one on in it’s place.
-
The variations have no end. You can make your pancakes special with a little tweak.
-
These are meant for special times and as a treat. Eating them too often would not be healthy.
