The sound of wind chimes can be so relaxing and this is a great project to add a little “country” to your decor. People of all ages will enjoy making these or receiving them as presents.
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
Paint Brushes
Washable Kid’s Paint
Recycled Newspaper or Old Tablecloths.
String or Twine
Paper Towels
Flower Pot
Container(s) of Water
Dowel Stick
Metal
DIRECTIONS:
1. Spread newspaper (or old tablecloth) over your table (or work area).
2. Lay you clay flower pot upside down on the newspaper.
3. Allow your children to decorate their bells with washable kid’s paint and paint brushes. Set aside to dry.
4. Tie a metal washer to string or twine to make a ringer for your bell.
5. Tie string to a short dowel stick to keep it from slipping through the hole.
6. Thread string through the hole in the flower pot and knot to hang indoors.
7. You can use three small clay pots and hang them from different lengths of fishing wire.
8. Follow the steps above and then tie fishing line to the dowel stick. Make the lengths vary in size.
9. Take a plastic shower curtain ring and carefully cut three small niches in the ring (space them evenly around the ring). Tie the fishing line around the shower curtain ring (one at each niche).
10. Take another dowel stick and glue the shower curtain ring to the dowel stick. Using a nail, poke a hole in each end of the dowel stick.
11. Tie knot to one end of a piece of fishing line and thread the other end through the hole. Thread the same end through the other side of the dowel stick and tie another metal washer.
