Clothes Pin Wreath Greeting Card Holder
Getting Christmas Cards is one of the highlights of the Christmas Season. Hearing from old friends and family members warms the heart. This project will make displaying your treasured Christmas Cards easy and attractive.
Let your kids be creative as they decorate and paint these simple wreaths. Add glitter, bows or other holiday decorations to the clothespin wreathes to make them personalized. Paint them red and white for a festive candy cane look or let your children go wild and paint the wreaths their favorite colors.
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
Acrylic craft paint – 1 primary green -1 evergreen
Clothes pins (The spring kind)
Wooden beads – Red -Green
Craft wire
Christmas Ribbon (wired Ribbon works best)
DIRECTIONS:
1. Paint half of your clothes pins evergreen and half of them primary green. (The number of clothes pins depends on the size of your wreath.)
2. Let the paint to dry completely. Once dry, string a clothes pin onto the wire through the spring in the center of the clothespin. The clamping part of the clothes pin should be toward the outside (These will hold Christmas Cards when project is complete).
3. Put a red or green bead on next. String clothes pins and beads, alternating colors, on your wire. You’ll want to create the pattern like so: Evergreen clothespin, red bead, primary green clothespin, green bead, etc.. There will be a bead between each clothespin.
4. When you end up with the size you want, bend the wire into a circle and twist at the top. You may have to shape the wire into a round wreath.
5. Use ribbon at the top to make a bow. Leave a loop at the top to hang the wreath and it’s finished!
6. Now you can clip the greeting cards on each of the clothespins! It’s really adorable
