Easy Christmas Tree Ornament
This craft project is perfect for younger children. It takes very little supplies and is as much fun to make as to see the finished project.
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
Popsicle Stick
Green Pipe Cleaners
Sequence or colored beads
Craft Glue
Green and/or Brown Craft Paint
Ribbon
DIRECTIONS:
1. Paint your Popsicle stick brown or green with your craft paint (you can also paint 2/3 of the stick green and the other 1/3 brown. Set aside (on waxed paper) to dry.
2. Glue on a piece of ribbon about 4 inches long (make a loop) to the back of the stick. Set aside to dry.
3. Once your Popsicle stick dries, take five green pipe cleaners and cut them so they are four different lengths. Trim 1/4 inch off one, 1/2 inch off one, 3/4 inch off the third and 1 inch from the fourth (you can adjust the length if you need to).
4. Fold each pipe cleaner in half. Start a 1/2 inch from the top of your stick and glue the center of shortest pipe cleaner.
5. Using the next shortest pipe cleaner, move down 1/2 inch and glue the center of the pipe cleaner to your stick. Continue from shortest to longest, moving 1/2 inch each pipe cleaner.
6. Once the glue dries completely, curl your pipe cleaners (so the sides form a “J” and a backwards “J”). This makes your branches.
7. Now decorate your branches with sequence, bows, glitter, etc.
* Once your ornament is dry, hang on your tree.
