Fabric Notebook Covers
These are great for presents or as a craft project for your children. Once their friends see these notebook covers, everyone will want one.
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
Old 3 Ring Binder
Scraps of Fabric (use colors to suit the purpose and recipient)
Aleene’s Tacky Glue or Fabric Glue
Pinking Shears
DIRECTIONS:
1. Cut the fabric into squares of about 5 inches.
2. Spread a thin layer of fabric glue all over the front of the binder.
3. Stick on the fabric in a patchwork pattern, smoothing out the material to remove lumps and wrinkles. It is best to work from the center out. Take special care around the seams.
4. Trim the edges of the fabric with pinking shears (to prevent fraying) to about ½ inch bigger than the binder.
5. Put a thin layer of glue around the edges of the inside of the binder.
6. Fold in the edges to secure the fabric in place (To create neat corners; firstly fold in a triangle at the corner: Then fold in one seam: And then the other).
7. Once the glue is dry, your notebook is complete. You may find it slightly stiff at first but once you bend it a few times, the notebook will look professional.
