No Sew Pillow
This makes a wonderful personalized gift for very little cost and in this economy who wouldn’t like to save money. This project can be made with two cloth place mats from your local dollar store.I would consider this craft to be fairly simple. These can be assembled with either a sewing machine, simple hand stitching or even hot glue. Any cloth place mat or cloth napkins will work.
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
Cloth Place Mats or Cloth Napkins
Sewing Machine, Needle and Thread or Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
Fiber fill batting
Fabric Paint
Stencils or Stamps (optional)
DIRECTIONS:
1. Take your plain place mat (or cloth napkin) and stamp or hand paint a design.
2. After the paint has dried, put your napkins back to back with the dull side out (embellished side facing each other).
3. Either machine sew, hand stitch or hot glue the two pieces together make sure you put them together inside out . Leave an opening large enough to fit your hand in.
4. Once you are finished sewing or gluing them together, turn the”pocket” right side out.
5. Stuff the pillow with desired amount of batting and hand sew or hot glue the opening closed.
TIPS:
* Use vintage place mats, napkins or any family heirloom to make your pillows extra special.
* Write a special saying on the place mats with sponge letter stamps. Use various stamps and stencils to embellish it.
* Ribbons, bows, silk flowers, etc. can all be hot glue to embellish your pillows.
